Happy Birthday Deb--April 19th

Happy Birthday to Deb--yesterday! This is late as I didn't make it to the library in time to get it posted on her actual birthday. Deb is in the long brown/taupe dress on the right (taken at Melissa's wedding last fall.) One of my favorite memories of Deb...she had all the younger kids in the barn for "choir practice"...it was mandatory. Ron and I were on the other side of the barn in the feed bin and everytime they would start singing, we would start howling...of course, we thought it was just so hilarious. Strangely, Deb didn't share our viewpoint. Hope you had an awesome birthday! Love ya! Theresa

17 Years Yesterday--We Miss You Dad!

It's hard to believe, but Dad's been gone 17 years yesterday. Especially this time of the year, I am so reminded of Dad when I'm outside. I found a mourning dove nesting in one of my hanging baskets this week and thought of Dad and how he had a soft spot for doves. I remember taking walks on the farm with him in early spring and his pointing out what the plants/trees were that were budding and/or blooming. Sheila shared the memory of being at Uncle Sam's, Dad asking Sheila for a hotdog, which she burnt to a crisp, but served anyway. Jeff remembers riding on the tractor with Dad. Christy remembers being at the farmhouse when she was little and all of the fun stuff. I'm sure we each have memories that sustain us of Dad. I feel blessed, but miss him sooo much.
